Aimed at improving technical-vocational teacher training and expanding graduate school pathways across Luzon, Marikina Polytechnic College and Camarines Sur International School Inc. signed a Memorandum of Understanding during a benchmarking and exploratory meeting on July 3, 2026, at the MPC Technology Business Incubator Conference Room. The agreement establishes a collaborative framework focused on sharing educational resources, co-developing curriculum tracks, and conducting joint research.

According to Dr. Rudy James Tabasa, MPC Director for the External and Internationalization Office, the gathering stemmed from a shared vision for academic excellence sparked during MPC President Dr. Rene M. Colocar’s presentation at a United Network of Technical Vocational Institutions (UNITVET) talk in Don Bosco, Makati City.

Executive Vice President Dr. Sheila Villanueva presented MPC’s flagship IMPACT Program. The initiative is a specialized Master of Education Management curriculum designed for TVET practitioners, featuring a hybrid, cohort-based design fully compliant with Commission on Higher Education standards. “This delivery of IMPACT is not just for our direct stakeholders alone, but this is our contribution to a greater cause as we attempt to be the official and academic training ground and provider of formal education on how to professionalize and manage deep and academic distributions,” VP Villanueva shared.

Reinforcing the program’s goals, Dr. Glen R. Mangali, Vice President for Academic, Technical Education, and Skills Development, stressed the IMPACT Program’s role in helping graduate students complete their studies and called for a partnership built on trust and a shared commitment to producing competent and ethical graduates.

President Colocar expressed optimism that the benchmarking visit would be a significant milestone in their shared journey toward technical-vocational excellence, especially as MPC transitions into becoming the country’s “Future National TVET University.”

“As we proudly transition toward becoming the ‘Future National TVET University,” we believe that our strength lies not only in our own milestones but in our ability to learn from and contribute to a broader community of educators. The fact that your institution is here to explore our Graduate School IMPACT Program demonstrates a shared commitment to cultivating transformative leaders. This program is a cornerstone of our graduate school, designed to create a significant, positive impact on the educational landscape, and we are eager to share this journey with you,” Pres. Colocar said.

CSIS President Dr. Zenaida B. Llorin shared her institution’s humble journey of starting with just 77 out-of-school youth. She emphasized that strategic alliances and industry cooperation are central to their mission to elevate faculty capabilities and expand local employment pathways for their graduates.

Also in attendance to lay the groundwork for the training partnership were MPC’s Dr. Medardo B. Bombita, Dr. Reah Suniga, and Prof. Christian L. Motol, as well as CSIS representatives Dr. Zenaida B. Llorin, Mr. Jose DC Delovino, Mr.  Jesther C. Revilla, Mr. Julian T. Hernan, Mr. Herbert R. Buaquena, and Mr. Francis Victor M. Ruizo.
