Striking while the momentum for sustainable development was high, Marikina Polytechnic College President Dr. Rene M. Colocar and  Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University have officially entered into a collaborative partnership on June 25, 2026 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition in Jakarta on the sidelines of the 5th annual Times Higher Education Global Sustainable Development Congress.

Signed under the PSAU Global South Partnership framework, this strategic alliance was formalized through a signed Letter of Intent focused on driving green skills initiatives and practices to tackle sustainability challenges, promote sustainable development, and foster innovation This milestone closely follows another partnership forged by MPC with Universitas Andalas on June 22, 2026 (https://l1nq.com/0s5mved).

This active week on the world stage also celebrated MPC’s first ever inclusion in the prestigious THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026, where it secured a global rank in the 1001–1500 bracket (https://sl1nk.com/3jtgydc).

President Colocar expressed his deep gratitude to CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis and Commissioner Michelle Aguilar-Ong for their support and encouragement, which empowered MPC to build its strengths in internationalization.

Following the high-profile ceremonies, Pres. Colocar and Dr. Rudy James D. Tabasa, Director for External and Internationalization Office, are maximizing their stay in Indonesia to build regional networks, exchange Technical and Vocational Education and Training best practices, and observe grassroots sustainability models to bring back to the Philippines.#
