Marikina Polytechnic College held its Baccalaureate and Recognition Rites on July 29 at the fifth-floor Events Hall of the Academic Building, celebrating the achievements of the graduating class under the theme “Champions of Change, Success Beyond Limits.”

The ceremony, which ran from 7 AM to 5 PM, recognized students for their academic and extracurricular achievements. Medals and certificates were awarded to top-performing graduates, with faculty, administrators, families, and peers in attendance.

Guest speaker James Aranjuez, Senior High School TVL teacher at Rizal High School, urged graduates to embrace uncertainty. “To be a champion of change means to embrace transformation, not fear it,” he said. “It means to be someone who adapts, grows, and even challenges the status quo—with integrity and faith. The world you are entering today is not the same world of yesterday. Change is constant.”

This call to evolve was reaffirmed by College President Dr. Rene M. Colocar, who emphasized that the event was not merely a celebration of medals or certificates, but of the silent triumphs each student endured to reach this day. He reminded graduates that these tokens are symbols of something far greater: the strength of character formed through difficult choices, quiet sacrifices, and unwavering persistence.

In a similar tone, Dr. Arra Santos expanded the definition of success, stating that it is not confined to grades or awards, but measured by one’s growth, grit, and ability to make meaningful impact. She stated, “Today, we shine the spotlight on those who turn challenges into opportunities—proof that change is powerful and success has no bounds.”

The program featured speeches on resilience and excellence, ceremonial blessings, and performances, closing the academic year with a formal send-off for the College’s newest alumni.
