Commodore Jay T. Tarriela, PCG Spokesperson for the WPS delivers talk on the facts surrounding the West Philippine Sea: where exactly it is, how it distinctly differs from the South China Sea, and for whom the West Philippine Sea is.
Amidst the on-going controversy about the West Philippine Sea, he expounded on the stand of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., including that of the last two presidents before him, former Pres. Benigno, Aquino, Jr., and former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte: the West Philippine Sea is the Philippines’ and that they will continue to assert our rights to it.
The symposium is part of the transparency initiative to raise awareness about what is happening at the West Philippine Sea in order to counter misinformation with facts.
