Japanese automotive companies donated two industrial fans to Marikina Polytechnic College and selected four of its students for employment opportunities in Japan, strengthening industry-academe ties and expanding career pathways for Filipino technical-vocational learners.
The donation and hiring announcements were made during a visit by a delegation from the Japan-based DRP Miyagi alliance on October 26, 2026, at the Academic Building. The visit was organized by TAU Corporation and Ethos Cooperative Union, in coordination with the External Linkages and Internationalization Office led by Director Rudy James D. Tabasa.

Four students were selected following interviews conducted on October 25, 2026. Zeal Corporation selected two students from the Automotive Technology Program of the Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education program. They are Driven Ejudo and Donato Garado. In addition, two students from the Bachelor of Industrial Technology program, Ian Francis Gabon and John Llenard Winston Dizon, were chosen to go to Japan to join Car Make Furukawa Corporation.

When asked about their aspirations, Dizon said, “To build my future,” while Gabon said he would focus on his training as he prepared for the next stage of his journey.
Ejudo, who recalled feeling nervous during his interview, said he was determined to give his best to pursue his dream of working in Japan and further developing his automotive skills. He said, “Ito na ang oportunidad, kaya gagawin ko na lang po ang best ko para po makapunta sa Japan.”
Garado described his selection as a blessing, expressing gratitude to God, MPC, and the training program for helping him secure an employer despite having only recently begun his preparation.
According to TAU Corporation representative Mr. Karl Simbajon, 14 trainees had already been hired under the Car Tender project before the latest selections. He also announced that nine additional hiring requests were awaiting applicants from partner companies. He encouraged MPC to reach out to more graduates and students interested in joining the training program.

The Japanese partners also donated two industrial fans to the college. Dr. Joemel Bautista, Vice President for Corporate Services, expressed his gratefulness on behalf of the college community. He expressed hope that the gathering would mark the beginning of stronger cooperation. Executive Vice President Dr. Sheila I. Villanueva stressed in her welcome remarks that the college has a responsibility to provide students with meaningful, quality education that makes their years of learning worthwhile.
College President Dr. Rene M. Colocar expressed confidence that the partnership would help MPC students realize their career aspirations and provide better lives for their families. His message, delivered by Dr. Glen R. Mangali, Vice President for Academic, Technical Education, and Skills Development, highlighted the role of international collaborations in expanding employment opportunities abroad through the Human Resource Business Project, the Car Tender Base Program, and the Basic Sheet Metal Training Program.
Among the delegation were President Kazuhiro Yarimizu of Auto Friend Corporation, who heads the DRP Miyagi branch; President Atsushi Kumazawa and Director Katsuya Sato of Zeal Corporation; President Keita Goshima and Director Toshimitsu Suzuki of Car Make Furukawa Corporation; and President Masanori Endo of ECP Corporation. They were joined by Senior Manager Mr. Takahiro Sunaga and Mr. Karl Simbajon of TAU Corporation, and Alumni Association President and Dean for Technology and Lifelong Learning Dr. Christian S.
