The partnership between the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO) and Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC) paved the way for the latter to produce promising textile technicians. Decades later, this center and the Mill Maintenance and Mechanical Technology courses that were offered became what students now know as the Garments, Fashion, and Design Department, which recently received a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) from the Commission on Higher Education.
